Calen Otto – Yoga Instructor

Calen Otto is a 200hr Kunga Yoga Teacher who completed their teacher training at the Wilmington Yoga Center in 2015. During this intensive training, Calen learned how yoga is much more than the physical asanas – it is a complete balancing control of mind, body, breath, and consciousness.

Calen first started teaching classes in Wilmington at gyms, studios, and even offering senior yoga chair classes. Calen also often volunteers leading classes for guests visiting and supporting farm animal sanctuaries. Calen primarily teaches level 1- 2 vinyasa flow classes, and always encourages new yogis and beginners to join. It is never too early or too late to learn yoga!

Calen first got into yoga when having a hard time dealing with stress and anxiety while living in a new country in South America for a year. They started doing yoga videos online, following along with no experience, and eventually took that anxiety-taming practice to in-person classes to deepen their practice and learn more.

The benefits to yoga are endless, but the most common and easily identifiable ones are stress reduction, blood circulation, mental clarity, flexibility, and increased energy. Yoga is more than just stretching to zen music – it is a familiar place to go, that will be what you need, where you can tune your practice to how you are feeling and what you would like to tap into in the moment. Let’s practice together and build a stronger community!
